Demos are essential for an actor looking to book work, whether it's creative or commercial. At Lucky Hat Studios, we want to help you create the best possible demo to fit your needs and goals!
Demos can be pricey, and we know it feels like some times studios can easily take advantage of actors, especially those newer to the industry. We avoid this in two ways: competitive pricing and readiness.
We feel our pricing is just right. Some studios charge upwards of $5,000 for a demo! We were scratching our heads figuring out how they can justify charging that much.
Readiness. What does that mean? Basically, we won't just charge you for a demo and throw you to the wolves. Everyone is at different places in their career, and we feel if you're just starting out, a demo could do you more harm then good. So with this in mind, when you reach out to record your demo, you'll have to answer a series of questions first and submit an audition for us to listen to. After consuming all this, we'll determine if you're ready to record! With that in mind, hit the button below to apply!
Looking to snag an agent? Wanna book commercial and industrial VO spots? Then a commercial demo is for you! Outside of these uses, commercial demos are the standard for most other VO-related industries as well including anime and video games! A commercial demo is the perfect way to showcase what you sound like!
During email and Zoom consultation, we will determine the direction your demo will go. Any material needed, including variations, will be prepared for you and ready to go upon recording!
You'll be working with our team to record and fine-tune your demo! The goal will be to efficiently create a demo that's 1-minute long that has a variation of segments to showcase your range.
Kim will take your demo and tighten it up, drop in music beds, do any minor sound design needed, and mix it!
Your demo is completed! The final product will be delivered to you within a week of recording ready to send out into the world!
Character demos are a good way to further showcase your range. It's always recommended you start with a commercial demo, but if you feel like an extra display of your skills will help you land more creative roles in animation and video games, then get yourself a character demo!
A very similar process to a commercial demo. You'll be contacted beforehand to talk about your goals for your demo, and we'll get the research done! Then, our team will record you!
Post-production for an Animation Demo takes longer to accomplish. There's more and complicated sound design, and the music needed has to be more specific.
Your demo is completed! The final product will be delivered to you within a week of recording ready to send out into the world!
