So you've taken some classes, but you feel like you need some more help. Maybe a one-on-one, hyper-focused on you, situation is the key!
Kyle has constructed a lesson plan that will help take you to the next level. It has both a set construct for everyone's needs, but is flexible to fit an individual's development.
Our first session together will be kind of a "see where you are" thing. Warmups, a little dubbing, reactions, etc. We'll also do a mock audition to see where your instincts are at. I'll be submitting that audition to a third-party for evaluation!
Session two we'll be focusing on tone, instincts, and taking direction utilizing a character/voice in your comfort zone.
Reactions is our main focus in our third session. Getting physical, trying a variety of reactions, and developing a "utility belt" of go-to reactions for you is our goal here. Some people just "get" reactions. If it's apparent you don't need a lot of work in this area, I've got a secret plan B.
The fourth session is all about line reads! We'll be going over line read theory, recording scenes where emphasis and line reads are vital, and learning the difference between emphasis and volume changes.
Session five is where we put it all together. I'll find a more challenging character for you to dub, and we'll dig in! Reads, instinct, tone, and taking direction will all come into play here!
Our last session is about auditioning. How do I approach sides? How many takes do I do? What read should I put first? These questions and more will all be answered this week. We'll finish with an audition of the same one that we started Session One with, and I'll send it off to the same third party for a final evaluation to see how much you've improved!
